L'HOMME QUI A VOULU
L'homme qui a voulu - ihminen joka tahtoi (human who wanted) explores the human experience in the midst of inevitable change unfolding in both environment and time.
Drawing from a Chekhovian mental landscape of the palys The Cherry Orchard and The Seagull, the piece for three dancers captures the moment when summer has turned into autumn and change has begun. Something has already been destroyed, transformed — and something is unfolding. Perhaps these people do not yet realize it, or perhaps they do not want to. There is the human who wanted.
L’Homme qui a voulu is an associative portrayal of the fading of human desires and dreams into the orchards of idleness and inactivity.
In the performance, questions of the passage of time and transformation are embodied through physical states of being and rendered as striking visual imagery.
