Nowhere Is Left Untouched by Its Dark Presence explores the individual in this time—within the era of ecological catastrophe and the machinery of capitalism. It reflects on how various currents infiltrate the body and the organism unconsciously and how the individual lives, experiences and acts amidst the inevitabilities of societal transformation from within ambivalent states—mirroring the perception of time.​

The title of the work is drawn from Timothy Morton’s book The Ecological Thought, in which Morton describes the interconnectedness of all life as an expansive, entangled mesh that includes both life and non-life (dark ecology). In the context of this work, the title evokes questions and associations with a darkness that is interwoven with the uncontrollable networks of life’s interrelations.

 

This piece becomes a way of engaging with the incomprehensible and the uncontrollable —existences and reflections of contemporary corporeality.​​
